A solo show with Adde Russell

This September, we’re thrilled to present a solo show featuring new work from rising talent, oil painter Adde Russell.

Though easily mistaken for mixed media pieces, Russell’s dramatic works on canvas are hand painted down to the last detail, a technical feat and one of the many compelling contradictions at play in her work. Paying homage to the inherent messiness of the creative process, her meticulously executed realism is paired with expressionistic flourishes and, at times intentionally marred or erased. The resulting works feel at once gravely serious, slyly lighthearted, and captivatingly unknowable.
