Meghan Purcell

Through the ancient technique of wool felting, Meghan Purcell explores ideas of genuine connection, sustainability, and the integrity of the human hand in an industrialized society.  From sourcing wool locally, to assisting with sheep shearing and felting each piece entirely by hand, every step of the process is highly intentional.

Meghan works with 100% locally-sourced wool from Wolf Ridge Icelandics, a sheep farm nestled just to the south of Livingston, in the heart of Paradise Valley, Montana.  She feels privileged to be able to work in partnership with local farmers and a sustainable, community-minded, and environmentally responsible local farm.

Meghan studied fine art at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design and Montana State University – Bozeman.  She earned a BFA in Art Education at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee in 2011.  She lives and creates in Livingston, Montana.
