Mixed media painter Sheryl Daane Chesnut transitioned to a full time career in fine art after years spent working in the design world.

While her paintings are largely inspired by scenes in nature, Daane Chesnut is clear that she conceptualizes her works not as landscapes, but abstractions that seek to distill a sense of place. Situated between the steep granite of the Santa Lucia Mountains and the vast expanse of the Pacific Ocean, her home in San Luis Obispo, California is an often revisited muse for the artist.
